DATE & TIME
Sunday, October 19, 2008. The race starts promptly at 8:00 a.m.

ABOUT THIS EVENT
The Ride & Tie consists of two-person teams, who alternate biking and running over a ten mile course. One team member starts off running while the other is on the bike. The biker may put down the bike after the two mile mark and when the runner reaches the bike, they change modes and continue. Each team will decide when to make the switch but there are two mandatory change points. Both team members and bike must cross the finish line together.

REGISTRATION
You may register online through SignMeUp.com, in person at the Village of Orland Park located at 14650 S. Ravinia - 708-403-PARK, Orland Sportsplex located at 11351 W. 159th - 708-645-PLAY, or at The Human Race Sports located at 15148 S. LaGrange Rd – 708-349-4724. The registration fee is $50.00 per team if registered by Saturday, October 18, 2008.

RACE DAY REGISTRATION
Teams may register race day beginning at 7:00 am at the race location (Metra Train Station, 153rd St and 104th Ave). Race day registration fee is $60.00 and must be paid in cash or by check.

PRE RACE TALK
There will be a pre race talk at 7:45 on race day to give everyone a chance to hear details on the course and the rules. The more you know about the race, the more fun you will have.

RACE LOCATION

TEAMS
Teams are made up of either two males, two females, or one male and one female. To calculate your age category, combine the two ages of the participants on race day.

PACKET PICK UP
Packet pick up will only be on Race Day 10/19 starting at 7am at the Metra Station.

REGULATIONS
The Ride & Tie is a two person, one bike alternating race. The rider and the runner alternate their position throughout the race. One team member starts off running while the other is on the bike. The person on the bike may put down the bike after two miles and start running. When the runner catches up to the dropped bike, the person becomes the rider. Each team may switch as many times as they choose. However, there are two mandatory switch points on the course. The course covers ten miles of paved road.

BIKES
Road and mountain bikes are allowed. HELMETS ARE MANDATORY.

AWARDS
T-shirts to all participants. Awards will be given to 1st and 2nd place finishers in each age/gender group. There will be post race refreshments.

ENTRY FEES
$50.00 per team. $60.00 per team day of race registration. No Refunds.
